This week we could choose from any technique from the past year. There were so many that I didn’t have a chance to play along. Time was short today so I actually re-made a card I did for my Christmas present card packs. (I’ll try to show those in the next couple days. I made 74 cards!) I used Heather Nichols stamp kissing technique #57, and it made it easier then when I first made these cards. Last time I stamped the woodgrain and cut it out to overlay.
I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Enjoy the Ride. This was around the time I discovered PTI. I first saw their Button Bits in Paper Crafts magazine and had to have it. What’s funny is I have rarely used that set, but now have so many sets.
I dug through a lot of free boxes at garage sales last summer and found some old AAA maps. They work great for a quick background. The Happy Birthday sentiment from this set is my favorite and I was so happy when they supersized it. The road I cut on my Cameo.

About Sheri Elmont
Welcome to my world. My name is Sheri Elmont and I have been papercrafting in some form since I was a child. Some friends invited me to a Creative Memories party about 14 years ago and I looked at this new hobby and I told them I couldn't do it because I would become obsessed with it. Well, here I am, with a whole room set aside for this hobby.
I am the owner of Buckets-O-Fun where I sell Finger Rockets, Yuck slime, Mammoth beach balls and all kinds of stuff. My customers are churches, camps, corporations, and families. I also own Beakers-O-Fun, a science lab company that I manage in partnership with Doug Verner, the science mind behind it all.
I also am an avid reader, gardener, cook, and all around fun girl. I have a Bichon, Sassy who is my darling doggy girl. You'll see her in my layouts. I love making layouts and cards because of the joy it brings others. I am working on two big projects, I am scrapbooking my friends blog, (Eeek! It was such a great idea, and I am so behind), and I am making a special scrapbook for some friends who's daughter survived being hit by an SUV.
Join me in this journey.
Your card is adorable, Sheri! Love this fun stamp and your idea of old road maps for a background is perfect with it!
Thanks Helen! I keep finding new ways to use this stamp set. And it’s great for feminine or masculine.
Brilliant–I have to remember to use my old maps–we have plenty! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks Greta! It’s been fun hunting down stuff to use for cards and layouts. As if I don’t already have enough supplies!
